The 9th International Conference on Sustainable Future for Human Security (SustaiN 2025)

The Society of Sustainable Future for Human Security (SustaiN Society), established in Kyoto in 2010, is a professional organization composed of experts, academics, practitioners, and policymakers committed to addressing global challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration. Recognizing that the complex issues affecting human security cannot be resolved through siloed approaches, SustaiN Society fosters knowledge exchange and innovative solutions across diverse sectors. As part of its mission, the Society actively supports platforms for dialogue and collaboration aimed to advancing sustainability science, policy, and practice at both local and global levels.

In 2025, the SustaiN Conference will adopt the central theme: “Resilient Futures through Interdisciplinary Pathways for Sustainable Development”. This theme reflects the urgent need to integrate environmental science, technology, policy, agriculture, health, economics, and social systems. By fostering collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from diverse fields, we aim to explore and co-create practical, equitable, and context-sensitive strategies that enhance resilience and support sustainable development in both local and global contexts.

By promoting interdisciplinary perspectives, the conference aims to showcase innovations and research across six key thematic areas: renewable energy and environmental management, sustainable tropical forest conservation, climate-smart agriculture, sustainable built environments, climate change and disaster resilience, and the social and political dimensions of sustainability. It serves as a platform for meaningful dialogue among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers committed to fostering ecological integrity, technological innovation, and governance frameworks that support a more sustainable and secure future.
